Day 10 in the 24-simple advent patterns: Easy bow tie

If your man wears bow ties, a new one can be an added present.
It’s so easy and fun to make that you might find yourself making one for all the men in your life, and then maybe making one for yourself.

The bow tie is knitted flat.
You need to know how to knit and purl.
The instructions are written in standard American terms. The pdf features photo support.
Knitting skill level: Easy, perfect project for new knitters

Needles: US 3 / 3.25 mm
Yarn: Woolike™ Yarn by Loops & Threads (Super Fine – weight 1)
Yardage: 136 y / 124 m
Gauge: 32 sts – 42 rows = 4 inches / 10 cm
Other Notions: tapestry needle, Bow Tie Set with one hook, one eye and one slider (from amazon).
Sizing: One size

Abbreviations
K: knit
P: Purl
sl1wyif: slip 1 stitch with your yarn in front
sl1wyib: slip 1 stitch with your yarn in back
RS: right side
Sts: stitches

Pattern

Bow
CO 16 sts
Row 1: *K1, sl1wyif * repeat to last 2sts, k2
Row 2: *P1, sl1wyib * repeat to last 2 sts, p2

Repeat last 2 rows until piece measures 9 inches / 23 cm
Bind off.
Seam bind-off edge to cast-on edge and set aside.

Knot
CO 12sts
Row 1: *K1, sl1wyif * repeat to last 2sts, k2
Row 2: *P1, sl1wyib * repeat to last 2 sts, p2
Repeat Row 1 and Row 2 until piece measures 2.3 inches / 6 cm in length.
Holding RS together, stitch together in a loop, turn right side out and sew on the button to the center of the seam.
