Do you ever wonder what other parents pack in their children’s lunchboxes?
I would like to be a fly on the wall of Cecilia’s canteen to see what other children are eating. According to her, everyone eats pasta and biscuits. Nothing else! When I talked with other parents, I discovered that it’s real!
What happens at nutrition? What happens to veggie and fruits? Do parents let the children what goes into the packed lunch?
What we need as busy parents is guidance and simple solutions to help us create quick and healthy lunchboxes for our children. Making a healthy lunchbox is easy!
So, let’s talk about what makes a lunchbox healthy, nutritionally and full of goodness?
I found a healthy lunch chart by flora. I have found it so useful, and I thought I would share it here so I can come back to it when I lack inspiration.
Putting together a good, healthy lunchbox need not be a chore or require effort or fancy equipment.
Here is what Cecilia’s lunchbox looks like on a typical day. Half of the time, we pack lunchboxes together, but she prefers me packing her a surprise lunchbox. And she loves lunchbox notes too 🙂
What inside my children’s lunchboxes
Usually, she got a typical Italian pasta as principal; I alternate pasta with rice or meat/egg sandwiches, but just one in a week.
Even I add a raw veggie in spring and a cooked vegetable in fall/winter, and fruit + some nuts, and… I’ve done!
As to snacks, she loves crackers and pretzel.
Sometimes I add something sweet as raisins or a cookie.
I hope you found my post useful, I really want to simplify your life!
I love the lunchbox builder! What a useful tool to help get ideas about what to put in the lunchbox, don’t you think?
