All serious crafters understand how difficult it can be to keep a creative space organized and looking good, so when I saw the photo about their craft studio on Knits for Life, I thought โYes, this is the clever way to organize your yarn!”
I have balls and skeins of yarn in my fabfitfun boxes, as you know, and I don’t have an empty wall for a pegboard but this yarn storage idea is a clever way to organize your yarn because you can see every single color of yarn that you own and you get a piece of hanging wall art.
If you have your craft studio or craft room, you have the advantage of more space, go for pegboard!
Itโs a great way to keep tools and supplies close at hand and is visually appealing.
To start, select a wall that everyone could agree on.
Yarn organization walls can be made using pegboard and hooks.
Then, you can simply display your skeins as they are.
For a fancy look, you have to โcakingโ your yarn, and you can use a simple yarn winder for that!
After winding all of your skeins into cakes, choose which colorway youโd like to display, and create a nice gradient.
Get creative with the placement of your skeins to make a cool display piece!
Add hooks, baskets, clipboards, and shelves to create separate areas for designated tools and equipment.
Use your pegboard as an art gallery or inspiration board. Attach bulldog clips to your latest works or inspiration pieces and hang them onto hooks.
Look for unique pegboard accessories โ Target sells small buckets and baskets in their $1 section.
You can also bring some color by painting your pegboard.
I know that it’s so hard to resist buying all the pretty, soft, colorful yarn! Make a pegboard for yarn organization so you can always know what you already have on hand!
