Itโs summertime, and for some reason, here in California, seems to be the busiest time of the year.
Whether youโre getting ready to wrap up a quarter at work, or youโve got school-related obligations for your children, itโs a time of chaos!
This is the time when, from two years, often I put aside my knitting. Itโs the first thing to go when my calendar starts to fill because there just isnโt time for everything.
But when I already start to feel the weight of all the hustling and bustling, Iโm ready to back off and to take the time to do something for me.
Because I canโt take care of all these other people in your life if I rag myself. I simply canโt be my best self if I havenโt taken the time to recharged my batteries.
So in this busy summertime, I take the time for myself and I knit for self-care, now more than ever. Maybe it isnโt convenient, or easy, but itโs very necessary for me.
Knitting is a way of giving yourself the time to relax, to do something creative, to think through your problems and release them, stitch by stitch.
Take my advice, when life starts to fill up your To Do list, add a line and knit for self-care or for your home. Give yourself something, before you give it all away.
You deserve this.
So, what will you knit next?
