The Vanilla fingerless gloves are worked in the round, in one piece. Cute lace details make these fingerless gloves quick to make. You don’t have to worry about right and left, because both mitts are the same.
Length Modification: To add length to the cuff, continue knitting in 1×1 twisted ribbing until you reach the desired length.

GLOSSARY:
Picot cast on:
Step 1: CO 6 sts using Knitted Cast-On Method. (For the first time ONLY cast on 6 sts, after that CO 4sts)
Step 2: K2.
Step 3: BO 1 on your right-hand needle by slipping the far-right stitch over the second stitch on the needle.
Step 4: K1 (2sts on your right-hand needle.)
Step 5: BO 1 (1st on the right-hand needle.)
Step 6: Slip the right-hand needle stitch onto the left needle.
Repeat steps 1 – 6 (CO4, k2, BO1, k1, BO1, sl 1, etc) until you have the required number of CO sts.
Elastic Bind off:
Knit one stitch. Knit another one. Now insert your left needle through the 2 st you have on your right, in front of the right needle. Knit these 2 st together through the back loop. You have bound off 1 stitch. Now you can knit the following st from your left needle and repeat the process until you have worked all your stitches.

PATTERN
Beginning – PICOT:
Picot CO 24 (28, 32, 34, 38, 42) sts using the picot cast-on method. (Instructions on page 3). Place BOR m and join in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Join for working in the rnd, being careful not to twist sts, pm for BOR.
Body
Rnd 1: *K2tog, YO; rep from * to end.
Rnd 2: Knit
Rnd 3: Purl
From the next round, continue working in stockinette stitch for 8 (10, 12, 14, 16, 18) rounds.
Now you will start the thumb hole.
Note: You will work the next section back and forth in rows. You can remove the BOR.
Row 1 (WS): K2, p to the last 2 sts, k2.
Row 2 (RS): Knit.
Repeat Rows 1-2 until you have 6 (8, 10, 12, 14, 16) rows worked in total.

Work in 1 x 1 twisted ribbing ~ (k1tbl, p1) until ribbing measures approximately 1 to 2″ / 2.5 to 5 cm.

Finish your fingerless glove with an elastic BO (Instructions on page 3).
FINISHING
Weave in ends and block the accessory to finished measurements.
