Learning a new skill: Embroidery

Iโ€™ve always wanted to deep understand embroidery, and over the past month or so I was finally able to do that with the help of a great online learning resource called Craftsy.

Iโ€™ll be the first to admit that I have been lazy with my creative skills, and I realized that it was high time I tried something new!

Which is why I was super excited to discover that Craftsy, an online learning platform, has set online resources for embroidery!
Itโ€™s incredible!
The format of the courses is great, with key steps and techniques broken down into short segments, making them very easy!

Here I share a few things I learned, so you can see just how easy it was to get started.

1. Stock Up Again

I loved that you donโ€™t have to spend too much to get what you need for this skill. You will need a crewel needle and a tapestry needle, fabric and embroidery thread. Along with some small scissors and an embroidery hoop. Thatโ€™s all!

2. Use a pattern

Don’t start sketch out your designs, but choose a simple patter.
You can transfer a pattern as the base, and even modify it to make it unique.

3. Get Stitching Embroidering

Is all about the different stitches, but to start you can focus on developing a few because the most simple embroidery only needs a couple!

I was able to create something to be proud of. Although I wouldnโ€™t say Iโ€™m an expert yet, it was so amazing to learn in such an innovative and flexible way. I totally recommend it!
