What I love to overhaul some old pieces, maybe the one I found in a thrift store and breath new life into them. Painting them, recovering them β I have to admit, sometimes the effort is more than that which it would take to buy the same item, but isn’t the point.
This passion had brought me in a new lifeβs passions and foraging for these things brings me so much joy, I honestly canβt describe it.
Today I wanted to chat with you about my aunt’s ottoman. While it doesnβt look that nice, itβs sturdy and comfortable, but she wants a new update to itβ¦ but just a slipcover.
Iβve been wracking my brain before to knew my aunt’ decision on re-covering this ottoman, but there are so many fantastic options that I can’t hold them anymore and maybe
Re-covering Your OttomanΒ in 10 simple ways
1. Velvet
Iβve been seeing beautiful velvet ottomans around a lot, and they seem like a good option. If you choose a simple color they are easier to style around and wonβt date too quickly.
2. Contrast color
I love little details so I love the addition of contrast accent in the piping. Not bad at all!
3. Print fabric
Prints in your living room β sounds too much? Like with fashion, it all depends on the right mix. I tend to have a lot of white, grey and blue furniture in my home β clean lines and designs that are a sleek and stylish help, in my opinion, to not get bored of furniture too quickly.
4. Rug
Ok, so Iβve been in love with rug covered ottomans. They just look so good! The only challenge they present is that given the thickness of most of these types of rugs, it would be a harder fabric to unholster inβ¦ And obviously, rugs are quite expensive.
5. Knit
Recently I came across a beautiful knitted ottoman and decided to add a pink ottoman in my girl’s room. You can find some pattern here.
6. Leather
The Leather Ottoman will elevate the look of your living room interiors to the next level. Please, only faux leather! Find one that offers the look and feel of genuine leather.
7. Faux Fur
Go ahead, try something new! Dare to choose a colorful faux fur. The lavish-looking furry cover is all glamor and comfort.
8. Fringe
I firmly believe that fringes are like the truffle salt of the design world. You can put them on anything and a transformation occurs!
9. Twill & wood
Mixing in some upholstered furniture in wood works perfectly with twill. It gives the ambient a sprinkle of eccentric elegance and can be a soft highlight.
10. Mud cloth
It’s been known to use it for everything! I guess thatβs because itβs a hardy fabric with lots of texture. I love the look of the white ones.
