How to Easily Arrange Pillows on Your Sofa

As an introvert that loves to stay at home, I have a confession to make: I love pillows!
But, arrange pillows on a sofa can be a different story. You have to dress for coziness and the catch of the eye.

I have a sofa with a chaise section, and the color is dark grey, very neutral, I can add any color I want to it. And pillows are the perfect pops of color for a living room!

There are so many ways to arrange pillows on a sofa, but the most classic arrangement is with five pillows.
Choose two large pillows for the outside of your sofa, a 24 or 26-inch square will be a perfect size.
Choose two medium pillows to go next to the large one, 20 or 18-inch pillows.
Add a new pillow, like a long pillow 20 x 26 inch or 12 x 18 inch a little square pillow 16×16 inch, to sit in the middle of the sofa!
This is the most often used pillow arrangement. Easy to construct!

Another arrangement, for a casual look, is with four pillows.
Put one large pillow on the ends of the sofa and buddied up with other two pillows, all are placed, so them rests on the arm and the back of the couch.
Then put another large pillow, alone, on the arm of the sofa.
In the end, let pillows slouch, this helps to create a casual look!

Now… there are no rules about pillows: you can choose the method “What I do on one side of the pillow arrangement, I do on the other!” (as seen on most magazines) or you can try to mix different motifs, maintaining the size guide for the arrangement.
You can play with colors, adding complimentary colors or seasonal motifs but try to find at least one element that runs through most of the pillows, like color, texture, or shape.

Bonus tip: add throw!
A throw that compliments the pillow color brings the whole pillow vignette together!
