Stitches for the weeks 23-26

Week 23: Chevron Seed Stitch

CO in multiples of 8
Row 1: * P1, K3 *
Row 2: * K1, P5, K1, P1*
Row 3: * K2, P1, K3, P1, K1*
Row 4: * P2, K1, P1, K1, P3*
Repeat rows 1-4, until the desired length.
Tip: If youโ€™re not adding a border, to BO I recommend ending on row 3 and BO in the row 4 pattern.

Week 24: Criss-Cross Basket Weave

Cast-on in multiples of 2 stitches
Row 1: * Cross 2 LK*
Row 2: P1 * Cross 2 RP* P1

Abbr:
Cross 2 LK: Knit into the back of the second stitch, and then the back of the first stitch and then slip both off.
Cross 2 RP: Purl into the front of the second stitch, and then the front of the first stitch and then slip both off.
Tip: If youโ€™re not adding a border, to BO I recommend binding-off in the K1, P1 pattern to keep it from curling up.

Week 25: Loop Knit Stitch

Cast-on in any number of stitches
Row 1: * K1, P1*
Row 2: * ML*
Row 3: * P*
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until the desired length.
Ended on row 2 and then BO in the K1, P1 pattern.

ML: Knit into the next stitch, but do not allow the stitch to fall off the needle. Bring the working yarn to the front between the two needles, place your thumb on the working yarn, and wrap the yarn around and over the top of your thumb, and back between the two needles. Keeping the yarn wrapped around your thumb, knit into the same stitch again.
Allow this stitch to fall off the needle, and the loop to drop off your thumb. You now have two new stitches and a loop on the right-hand needle. Insert the left needle into the front of the two stitches on the right needle, and knit together.

Tip: It doesnโ€™t have loops on the other side. Instead, itโ€™s a lovely dense fabric. It would make a beautiful rug.

Week 26: Bamboo Knit Stitch

Cast-on in multiples of 2
Row 1 : * YO, K2, Pass the YO over the 2 knit STS*
Row 2: Purl

Tip: Although this is not a reversible pattern, both the right and wrong sides of this stitch look really attractive. You might try using this stitch in place of garter, moss or seed stitch. For example, you might experiment with knitting bamboo stitch borders for washcloths.
