Bulky and quick free pumpkin knitted pattern

Pumpkins in all shapes and forms are in any home decorations. With that in mind, I decided to contribute to this madness with my pumpkin knitted pattern!

These pumpkins are knit from the bottom up, worked flat (back and forth).
The instructions are written in standard American terms. The pdf features photo support.
Knitting skill level: Easy, perfect project for new knitters

Big pumpkin

Needles: US 16/10 mm
Yarn: Lion Brand Thick & Quick (6 Super Bulky, 80% Acrylic; 20% Wool, 6 oz/170 gr, 106 y/97 m)
Yarn alternatives: 2 strands of Standard Weight 4 (Medium, Worsted, Aran, Afghan): 4 strands of Standard Weight 3 (Light, DK, double knitting, Light Worsted)
Yardage: 26 y – 23 m
Gauge: 9 sts x 12 rows = 4 inch (10 cm)
Other notions: darning needle, polyfill or scrap yarn, a scrap piece of leather, twine, or wool
Sizing: 5.5 inch/14 cm x 2inch/5.5cm

Abbreviations:
WS: wrong side
K: knit
P: Purl

Cast on 32 sts
Row 1: * k3, p1; rep from * to the end of the row
Row 2: *k1, p3; rep from * to the end of the row
Rep row 1 and 2 a total of 5 times.

Cast off by running a darning needle thru sts. Cinch closed.
Use 1.5 y piece of yarn to sew in WS thru the knit rows to create intermittent creases to get an authentic pumpkin feel. Pull tight.
Fill taught with polyfill or scrap yarn.
Whip stitch bottom to cinch closed.
Use a scrap piece of leather, twine, wool, or knit icord for the stem.

Work stockinette for 3 rows
Cast off by running a darning needle thru sts. Cinch closed.
