Day 5 in the 24-simple advent patterns: Pom-pom Boot Cuffs

Every now and then, you need to knit something simple, just like boot cuffs! There’s absolutely nothing too fancy about these, but it’s something super useful to have around.
The pom-pom boot cuffs will keep you and your family warm this winter.
Perfect for gift knitting also: it’s both quick and easy – and a great way to use some of the remaining yarn remains you happen to have around.

About
The pom-pom boot cuffs are worked in the round, in stockinette stitch and rib stitch for a snug fit.
Different stitches have chosen so that cuff could be reversed for different outfits.
This pattern is seamless, apart from the little bit of stitching that is required for the pompom.

The instructions are written in standard American terms.

Making the Pompom

Following the instructions on the pompom maker, make sure to double wrap the yarn around each barrel.

Ps: There are plenty of ways to make pom-poms without a pompom maker! A simple Google search will reveal many different ways (e.g., using your hands, using toilet paper rolls, using a fork, etc.!)

Attaching the pompom
Using a piece of yarn, thread the tapestry needle. Weave the tapestry needle up through the inside of the boot cuff, and out the center of the top of the boot cuff.
Gently weave the tapestry needle through the center of the pompom.
Then thread the needle back through the pompom and the boot cuff.
Continue weaving up and down through the pompom and the boot cuff a couple more times to ensure it is secured. Then cut yarn and tie a knot to fasten.

Repeat for all the pompoms.
