Day 13 in the 24-simple advent patterns: The Simplest Pot Holder
Now this one is an old one, but a good one and we hop straight back to a year ago!
The simplest pot holder it’s a pattern quick and easy – and a great way to use some of the remaining cotton yarn remains you happen to have around.

Needles: US 15 – 10 mm
Yarn: Super Bulky (5-6 wpi)
Yardage: 38 yards / 34 meters
Gauge: 8 stitches x 11 rows per 4” / 10 cm
Other notions: Tapestry needle, leather, rotary cutter, leather punch, and rivet kit
Sizing: 8” / 20 cm wide x 7.5” / 19 cm long

Weave in the ends
For the handle:
Cut a piece of leather roughly 7.5″ / 19 cm long and 0.5″ / 1,5 cm wide with a rotary cutter.
Using a leather punch, punch a hole at each end of the leather.
Hold the ends of the leather together so that the holes overlap, then insert a rivet backing from behind.
Push the rivet backing through one corner of the potholder then snap on the rivet cap.
Use a hammer to pound the rivet shut.
