Day 14 in the 24-simple advent patterns: Chevron coffee cozy
Only ten days to Christmas! How is that even possible? These two weeks of December have gone by so unbelievably fast!
I’ve been so focused on this fun little calendar adventure, that I haven’t given much thought for the actual Holiday!
The Chevron coffee cozy should work for many different objects, even though they were designed especially for coffee cups.
Try it on a can, on a little vase, or a simple glass and have fun knitting!

The Chevron coffee cozy is knitted in the round from bottom up.
The main body is worked in a Chevron pattern for textural and visual interest.
In the end, the bind off is worked with the i-cord method.
You need to know how to knit, purl, basic increase, and decrease.
The instructions are written in standard American terms. The pdf features photo support.
Knitting skill level: Easy, perfect project for new knitters
Needles: US size 8 (5 mm) 16” (40 cm) circular needle or US size 8 (5 mm) DPNS.
Yarn: Worsted (9 wpi) – Weight: Medium (4)
Yardage: 36 yd. / 33 m
Gauge: 16 sts and 20 rows = 4 in/10cm in pattern stitch in US size 8 (5 mm) needle in the rnd.
Other notions: Stitch markers, tapestry needle.
Sizing: Height: 11 cm (4.25″) – Diameter: 7 cm (2.75″)

Using DPNs needle or 30” (80 cm) circular needle, CO 32 sts and join in the rnd. PM to mark beg of rnd.
Work the main body:
Rnd 1: (p1, k3, p1, k3) 4 times
Rnd 2: (p2, k5, p1) 4 times
Rnd 3: (p3, k3, p2) 4 times
Rnd 4: (k1, p3, k1, p3) 4 times
Rnd 5: (k2, p5, k1) 4 times
Rnd 6: (k3, p3, k2) 4 times
