5 Things to Do When You Have Creativity Lows

I think it happens to all of us: one day, you can jam out all these ideas for social media or new designs, and the next, you are empty.

Creativity is weird because every single person has to tap into theirsโ€“no matter if you think youโ€™re โ€œcreativeโ€ or notโ€“because we are all putting out resources and content that hopefully attracts and endears people to us.

Some days, I canโ€™t think of ONE creativity thing. Have you been there? Iโ€™m guessing so, which is why I wanted to share my top 5 things to do when you get into a creative funk.

1. Knit

Knitting is a way of giving yourself the time to relax, to do something creative, to think through your problems, and release them, stitch by stitch.

2. Focus in the morning

So before you check your digital resource right away in the morning, prioritize creating first. Use your energy and momentum to focus on what you need to build and share with others. You can jump into your thoughts before hearing a bunch of others, and thatโ€™s big-time helpful.

3. Just for you

Do something โ€œcreativeโ€ that doesnโ€™t involve work. It can be a simple rearrangement in a room or journaling.
Creating for the sake of creating, often sparks other ideas in me without pressure on forcing myself to come up with something brilliant.

4. Get inspirations

Consuming content from people who inspire you, especially in the creative space, is so significant because itโ€™s the quickest way to realize youโ€™re not alone.
Even they deal with mindset funks and creative lows, and they often have just the words I need to hear to get a kick in my motivation gear.

5. Meditate

Be unapologetic for carving out time for yourself; once you start going down the rabbit hole of reflection, your mind will start making more connections and ways to act for you. Just go with the flow!

So, tell me, what do you do when you feel like youโ€™ve hit a rut in creativity in business?
