How to Create a Content Calendar for Your Brand

We all know how important content is for growing your business so letโ€™s get you started with a plan, a content calendar.
It will help to create interesting and valuable content that will both attract new customers and keep your existing customers coming back.
And yes, it is possible to create content for your business well in advance.

I’ve put together some tips and some routines to help you build your own content calendar so you can win more customers with your compelling content.

A home for your calendar

Where will your content calendar live? It can be an online home (Google Calendar, Asana, project-planning software, etc.) or paper calendars. I love planners so my content calendar is on paper ๐Ÿ™‚

List what you plan to create

Content is what you are putting out into this world from your business and your content calendar can include things like blog articles, social media posts, a podcast, or your email newsletter. You may not think a literal list is important, but this is the best way to accurately and easily plan for your various types of content.
Remember to have variety in your content!

Frequency

Be realistic about how often can you produce each piece of content on your list.
It’s better to release content consistently but with less frequency over the long term than to provide a flurry of content for a few weeks but then abandon your efforts because you can’t keep up.
Let me break it on down for you: I post to my blog 2 days a week and on my IG 3 days a week

Big events and your schedule

Put any special events or holidays or vacations that are relevant for your business on your calendar.
For example, note all the gift-giving holidays and seasonal sales so that you can create content accordingly. And, if you’re going to be traveling, set a deadline to complete all your tasks for that period before you leave.

Deadlines

Set the dates when you’ll be publishing, posting, or emailing your various forms of content. And establish interim deadlines as well so that you can go back and edit it with fresh eyes.

Remember, donโ€™t just stop at the creation!
Promote your content, share it, and get the word out about what youโ€™ve made!
