IG for Knit Designers – Launch With Instagram Stories

Today is all about how to launch with Instagram Stories!
By now, you might all know that I LOVE using Instagram Stories as a way to engage with my audience, build community, and also have a bit of fun!
But they can also serve as a valuable tool during your launch!

I think too many people shy away from showing their face and talking directly to their audience, but often this is the personal communication they need to get to know you and trust you to buy from you.ย

You can use them as a mini-sales page, and put them in one day, or divide the stories into more days and be ready for launch with Instagram Stories.

1. Re-introduce yourself

Create a video or an image that is 1 to 2 slides long that briefly introduces who you are and a quick tease of your product.

2. Question

Ask your audience a question that agitates your ideal client’s problem (for example – I might ask something like “do you struggle with finding easy and unique patterns?”).

3. Create a giveaway

The important step here is to make sure you set up your giveaway so that it both spreads the word about your launch and captures peopleโ€™s email addresses.
A giveaway could be a tangible product, e-product, course or service but relates to what you are ultimately selling so that you are attracting the right audience and building hype for when you do actually launch.

4. Share the detail of your product

In one to three posts, begin to present the features of your product. Introduce it in detail with your audience, talk about who it’s for, what it is, and what’s inside. Share your product as if you’re sharing a valuable resource with a good friend.
Here are some questions to ask yourself if you sell patterns:
โ€ข What do you love so much about it?
โ€ข What makes it so amazing?
โ€ข What would someone else say if they bought it and wanted to share it with their friends?
Share what’s included if you sell programs:
โ€ข Outline exactly what they get when they sign up
โ€ข Share it in a way that explains the benefits as well.
Remember to share your product along with the pricing!

5. Answer objection

Answer a few common objections (or top objections) in your Story, you can:
โ€ข Put yourself in the shoes of your ideal customer (What are they thinking? What’s holding them back from purchasing? What would get them to buy if they had nothing to lose?)
โ€ข Ask your audience (The question sticker is great for getting really specific answers. But polls are less intimidating!)
โ€ข Use Social Proof (use the responses of testers to help answer objections or to show a beautiful pattern).
โ€ข Ask for any additional questions and answer these questions throughout the day.

6. Create urgency

Your goal is to get people to purchase, give them a reason to buy today. That means showing up high energy, high vibes, not desperate. Share as if you’re excited to share something with a friend.
Some ideas to get people to by today include:
โ€ข time sensitive discounts
โ€ข closed doors
โ€ข expiring bonuses (bonuses you get when you buy today).

7. Celebrate buyers

Social proof is a great way to get your audience to see that real people have purchased your product. Here are some ideas to celebrate your buyers:
โ€ข You can shout out each one individually.
โ€ข You can shout out buyers at intervals, like 1st, 10th, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th buyer. Feel free to celebrate with, “We have a new member joining us!” or “The 5th person just joined! Will you be next?”
โ€ข Anytime you hit a milestone (ie. the 10th member or the 100th member), do a little dance party! Use the music sticker to create excitement!

8. No sales?

Go ahead and celebrate those who will buy in the future! Say you’re excited about your future and let your audience know you can’t wait to work with them. That way you can still celebrate and be genuine!

BONUS TIP

Other ways you can build anticipation include:
โ€ข Countdowns: get excited like itโ€™s Christmas youโ€™re counting down to and chances are, your audience will get excited too.
โ€ข Hint at it on social media while youโ€™re creating it. Let people in on the process while youโ€™re creating the material! This is a great way to lead up to your launch, get people involved, and even ask for feedback during the creation process.
โ€ข Add these full Stories as a highlight in your Instagram profile to boost sales when new followers land on your profile!

Save this post for a step-by-step process on how to sell your product, whatever it is a pattern or a program, using Instagram Stories as a tool.

When you can create and plan from a place of calm, not last-minute chaos, you’ll feel and see the results in so many more ways than just your peace of mind. Thatโ€™s the freedom and beauty of a Launch with Instagram Stories with strategy!
