SIZING
Small mushroom: 1.5″ x 2″ / 3 x 4 cm
Medium mushroom: 2.5″ x 4″/ 6 x 10 cm
Big mushroom: 4″ x 6″ / 10 x 15 cm

NEEDLES
Small mushroom: US 4 / 3.5 mm circular needles (60 cm long) for magic loop method or dpns.
Medium mushroom: US 7 / 4.5 mm circular needles (60 cm long) for magic loop method or dpns.
Big mushroom: US 9 / 5.5 mm circular needles (60 cm long) for magic loop method or dpns.

YARN
The sample used DK yarn: Hobbii Amigo 100% HB Acrylic.
You can use 2 strands of DK or Aran weight for the medium mushroom and 4 strands of DK or 2 strands of Aran or Chunky for the big mushroom.

YARDAGE
Small mushroom in DK yarn:
MC: 30.6 yds / 28 m
CC: 4.4 yds / 4 m
Medium mushroom in aran yarn:
MC: 41.5 yds / 38 m
CC: 6.5 yds / 6 m
Big mushroom in chunky yarn:
MC: 52.4 yds / 48 m
CC: 8.7 yds / 8 m

GAUGE
9 sts per inch for small mushroom, 8 sts per inch for medium mushroom, 7 sts per inch for big mushroom

SIZE
Small mushroom: 1.5″ x 2″ / 3 x 4 cm
Medium mushroom: 2.5″ x 4″/ 6 x 10 cm
Big mushroom: 4″ x 6″ / 10 x 15 cm

CONSTRUCTION
To make these mushrooms, you will knit flat top down, starting from the cap, and work increases until you reach the stem, following the pattern. Gills are made using a picot bind off, and scales are made using nupps. Gills and scales are optional.

CAP
Using MC yarn CO 7 sts using any CO method you prefer.

Row 4: Knit
You should have 9 sts.
Row 5: K1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1.
Row 6: Knit
You should have 11 sts.
Row 7: K1, m1, k to last st, m1, k1.
Row 8: Knit
You should have 13 sts.
Rows 9-12: Knit
Cut MC and change to CC.
Rows 13-14: Knit
Bind off.
STEM
Using CC yarn, pick up and knit 3 sts at the center bottom of your cap.
Row 1: Knit
Row 2: Knit
Rep rows 1-2, 8 more times.
Bind off.

PATTERN: Mushroom with scales and gills
CAP
Using MC yarn CO 7 sts using any CO method you prefer.
Row 1 (RS): Knit
Row 2 (WS): Knit
Row 3: K1, m1, in CC n, in MC k3, in CC n, in MC m1, k1. Cut CC.
Row 4: Knit
You should have 9 sts.
Row 5: K1, m1, in CC n, in MC k2, in CC n, in MC k2, n, m1, k1. Cut CC.
Row 6: Knit
You should have 11 sts.
Row 7: K1, m1, in CC n, in MC k2, in CC n, in MC k1, in CC n, in MC k2, in CC n, in MC m1, k1. Cut CC.
Row 8: Knit
You should have 13 sts.
Rows 9-10: Knit
Cut MC and change to CC.
Rows 11-12: Knit
GILLS
