January Favorites

January was a busy month, with the end of the Italy trip and also a need to really get stuck into the Cecilia school projectsโ€ฆ Doing all that while wrangling two toddlers has been an interesting challenge, but seeing Clelia so quickly grow into a little girl like her sisters is so amazing!
Hereโ€™s what was on my mind and hands (+heart) this month!

Making

We were the first 12th days of January in Rome, fighting with doctors for my parents’ analysis, so I don’t have time for anything than cooking.
I made a lot of soup, especially minestrone. I love it.
Back at home, I knit a couple of sweaters, one for me and one for my husband. And now I re-start teaching how to knit to Cecilia. She wants to knit a skirt for her doll, and I’m curious about her interest.

Nesting

My parents’ home is filled with fantastic rugs. And mineโ€ฆ just one in my girls’ room (this one from Ikea but sorry, pink not more available)!
We had some rugs before moving to California, in our home in Milan, but we had sold everything for moving.
Now I miss rugs, so I search a place to buy one for the living room and one for our bedroom. I found a guide to buy rugs online and it is very helpful!

Reading

Since reading a report on Climate Change that put in clear and alarming terms just what we have done and what we are continuing to do to our beautiful planet, Iโ€™ve been doing a fair share of reading and wanted to share with you a few pieces that I have found useful and inspiring:

Going

After a long time away from home, we want to rejoin in our routines.
One of our family tradition is the Saturday morning breakfast. My favorite place is Starbucks, and I always ask for a coffee mocha and a morning bun, even in summer!
My daughters enjoy the morning bun, so I start to consider baking some. I found this recipe and I want to give it a try!
