Our last month has been a little more stressful because of our trip to Italy, and I wanted to slow down, enjoy a winter night and savor the moments Federico and I have together.
Letโs be honest; thereโs no better way to have a date than with an indoor picnic!
So Iโve put together five steps to help you plan the perfect indoor picnic date night.

1. Set the scene
If you want to have an outdoor picnic or even a little floor party arrangement, blankets and pillows are essential. They help create that comfortable and cozy vibe.
Besides that, the possibilities are endless.
I chose to lean mildly scented candles and some of our favorite card games.
I love to light some mildly scented candles and have greenery. Itโs not necessary, but it adds to the ambiance.
2. Eat it easy
Can you call it an indoor picnic if a cheese board isnโt involved? I donโt think so.
My go-to for hosting a get together is a cheese and charcuterie plate. When styling a cheese board, my must-haves are:
Different Cheeses, nuts, olives, meat, and crackers.
To compliment your cheeseboard, I suggest smoked salmon tartines.
I am of the firm opinion that every special occasion should end with just a bit of sweetness. For a perfect indoor picnic date night, you could do anything from Brownie bites to Chocolate covered strawberries!
3. Fun
You have to set the mood! Romantic songs are easy choices. You can check out some of Valentine’s playlists on Spotify.
I love having some of our favorite games out. You would be surprised how many fun memories we have centered around a board game.
We love to watch movies too! Choose a romantic drama, just for this night, like Casablanca or Dirty dancing.
4. Talk and plan
Itโs a great chance to spend some time enjoying and appreciating each otherโs company by a cozy fire.
5. Photo finish
Snap your spread with a picture-perfect camera.
Another fun thing to have is a Polaroid camera ready to use. A fun party addiction!

With your kiddos, you can make all the things above! Just add non-alcoholic drinks and watch movies your kids will love!
