Stitches for the weeks 27-30

Week 27: Popcorn Bobble knit stitch

This stitch is worked over two rows.
Row 1: Work in pattern to the point where you’ll be adding your popcorn stitch. Begin to work a knit stitch, but stop before sweeping the old stitch off.
Bring your working yarn in between your needles to the front of your work. Purl through the front loop of that same stitch without sweeping the old stitch off.
Bring your working yarn in between your needles to the back. Knit through the same stitch again without sweeping the old stitch off.
Bring the working yarn in between the needles to the front again. Purl through the same stitch again without sweeping off.
For the final stitch of your popcorn stitch, bring the yarn to the back and knit, this time sweeping the old stitch off of the needle.
Continue the rest of your right side row in pattern.
Row 2: Work in pattern until you reach the stitch containing the 5 stitches of your popcorn stitch. Purl all five loops of the popcorn stitch together (p5tog) and sweep all five loops of yarn off of the needle.

Due to its raised bumps, the popcorn stitch is a unique stitch to add to your knitting repertoire. Mastering this stitch will add beautiful three-dimensional texture to your projects without having to juggle a cable needle or work really intricate stitch patterns.

Week 28: Ridge knit stitch

CO in multiples of 2
Row 1: *K *
Row 2: *K2tog *
Row 3: *Kfb *
Row 4: *P *
Repeat rows 1-4

The Ridge Knit Stitch Pattern is a fun series of knits and purls to make this unique horizontal design. This 4-Row Repeat Knit Stitch Pattern is a reversible pattern thatโ€™s stretchy.

Week 29: Gathered knit stitch

CO in any number of stitches
Row 1-5: *K *
Row 6: *Kfb *
Row 7, 9, 11: *P *
Row 8 & 10: *K *
Row 12: *K2tog *
Repeat rows 1-12, until the desired length.

The Gathered Stitch is a segment of ruched stitches worked in stockinette stitch against segments of garter stitches. The gathered or ruched effect is created by doubling the number of stitches at the start of the stockinette stitch section and then reducing in half before working the segment of garter stitch.
TIP: go up a needle size or two if the stockinette stitch is too bulky.

Week 30: Stocking heel knit stitch

CO in multiples of 2, plus 1
Row 1: (wrong side) Slipโ€‹ the first stitchโ€”Purl remaining stitches.
Row 2: *Slip stitch as if to purl. Knit 1. Repeat from * across.
Repeat these two rows for pattern.

True to its name the heel stitch is normally used to form the heels of socks. The heel stitch is meant to be durable while also adding cushioning for your feet, it produces a fabric that, while flexible, still keeps its shape.
