How to use Pinterest – Optimizing your Pinterest Profile

When you start optimizing your Pinterest profile, you target your ideal client for your shop, so remember that your feed has to resonate with your target audience.
Weโ€™ll set up a profile that will really speak to your customers and allow you to engage with them after learned how to use Pinterest to promote your knitting.

1. Account

If you already have a substantial personal account with a good amount of following but is full of things that have nothing to do with your knitting shop, my advice is to open a new account, a business account.
Remember to add your profile picture, a picture of you, not a logo. Buyers of handmade products, in particular, want to know that theyโ€™re buying from a person.
A little tip: I use the word โ€œknit designerโ€ on my business title, that is because my target customers are knitters.

2. Description

160 characters to tell the world what you do. Speak to your ideal customer’s heart by telling them who you help and how you help them.
Then, add a link to your email opt-in โ€“ be sure to provide them something that theyโ€™ll find valuable enough to give you their email address in exchange.

3. Claim your shop

Once you have a business account โ€“ go into your Pinterest settings and click Claim in the dropdown. Follow the instructions to claim your shop.
Those pins pinned from your shop have more stats associated with them, plus your Pinterest account will get credit for that pin.
