One year ago, I designed the Elemental cans as a series of four dainty little covers featuring textured stitches.
The pattern blends seamlessly on these thoughtfully designed can covers. Each can cover is knitted in the round from bottom up. The base is worked in a Garter Stitch pattern.
Stitches are then picked up along each side and the can is worked in a charted pattern, for textural and visual interest.

โข Yardage: 36 yd. / 33 m (each)
โข Size: Tin can or flat bottomed cylindrical container measuring Height: 11cm (4.25โณ), Diameter: 7cm (2.75โณ)

CO – cast on

Base
Using DPNs needle or 30โ (80 cm) circular needle, CO 8 sts and join in the rnd. PM to mark beg of rnd.
Rnd 1: *kfb * (16 sts)
Rnds 2 and all even rounds: purl
Rnd 3: *K1, kfb * (24 sts)
Rnd 5: *K2, kfb * (32 sts)
Rnd 7: knit
Rnd 9: knit
Rnd 10: purl
Next, knit the main body in choosing your design below.

Rnd 1: (p1, k3, p1, k3) 4 times
Rnd 2: (p2, k5, p1) 4 times
Rnd 3: (p3, k3, p2) 4 times
Rnd 4: (k1, p3, k1, p3) 4 times
Rnd 5: (k2, p5, k1) 4 times
Rnd 6: (k3, p3, k2) 4 times
Repeat rounds (1-6) 5 times, for a total of 30 rounds.
Rnd 31: work the icord bind off

Repeat rounds (1-4) 8 times, for a total of 32 rounds.
